ACT is a division within the Ampath Group which is South African based. The Ampath Pathology Laboratories were established in 1996 and practice under the registered name of Drs du Buisson, Kramer, Swart, Bouwer Inc.

Our laboratories are accredited by SANAS (South African National Accreditation System) for compliance with ISO 15189 requirements, and we participate in proficiency testing to ensure quality of results.
   Experience in Clinical Trials
  The laboratories have been involved in clinical trial testing since 1991, participating in both global and local studies, resulting in exposure to external sponsor audits.

  We have laboratories throughout South Africa and neighbouring states to offer customers full coverage of the diverse demographic and geographic entities in our country.

 Qualitative, quantitative and multiplex PCRs for Viral, Bacterial, Fungal and Parasitic pathogens

 HIV diagnostics - Qualitative HIV PCRs, HIV viral load testing, Genotypic HIV drug susceptibility testing

 Tuberculosis diagnostics – TB PCR testing (directly from clinical samples), genotypic speciation of Mycobacteria and genotypic first and second line drug susceptibility testing from both clinical samples and culture isolates
